Planting Mangrove in Silvofishery Model at Tritih, Cilacap

One of area which are an unique ecological feature in Indonesia is mangrove forest at Segara Anakan, Cilacap. Mangrove forests have any benefit and function of ecological and economic aspect. And the other hand, part of society in there get income from mangrove forest, but this activities can demage the ecosystem of mangrove. Because of the problem so must any solution and alternative keep ecosystem to allow sustainable development. It mean that this area need management area from a holistic perspective as opposed to sectoral approach and with consider three main factor, such as : economic, social, and environment. One of the technic rehabilitation which based on fungtion of area mangrove, biophysic condition and socioeconomic at mangrove forest is silvofishery model. It is a system that build fish pond and planting mangrove with ratio fish pond : mangrove 50:50. This is a socioeconomic develompment program being carried by State Forestry Coorporation and coordinated with PATTRA UNSOED, and University of Bremen, Germany; Kelompok Usaha Tani “Mitra Utama” (NGO). Benefitial from these project are planting mangrove can keep everlasting the ecosystem of mangrove forest as nursery ground and feeding area so give opportunity to society from increased production fish, it is mean can increased in income of society. The socioeconomic development come true without ignore everlasting the ecosystem of mangrove forest.
